SUMMARY:MESA 2023 Travel Grants for Graduate Students and Contingent/Precariously Employed\, September 13\, 2023
DESCRIPTION:From MESA: \nMESA’s Travel Grant program awards $500 grants to students and to precariously employed or contingent faculty who have no other institutional support to attend the conference. \nThis year\, we have received 140 applications from students and from contingent faculty/precariously employed. \nSo that we can offer the maximum number of travel grants\, the Board is issuing a challenge to our members to raise funds in solidarity with precarious labor as well as students in our field. \nWe will be conducting the lotteries for travel grants on September 13. The amount in the fund at that time (including MESA’s contributions) will determine the final number of 2023 travel grants. Since eligible applicants will exceed the number of grants available\, qualified applicants will be entered into lotteries by random selection.
