DESCRIPTION:From the organizers: \nAs part of the Copyright in Islamic Law Project\, we are in the process of arranging a symposium entitled “Symposium on Copyright in Islamic Legal Tradition“. The event is scheduled to be held in Istanbul on the dates of June 28-29\, 2024. The central objective of this symposium is to convene a diverse assembly of scholars across an array of disciplines\, with the aim of delving into the intricate interplay between copyright\, intellectual property\, and Islamic jurisprudence. \nWe earnestly seek to extend the outreach of this initiative to a wide-ranging audience keenly interested in this pertinent subject matter. Thus\, we cordially request your esteemed organization’s assistance in disseminating our call for papers amongst your esteemed subscribers. \nThe deadline for abstract submissions is set for October 15\, 2023\, with a stipulated limit of 350 words per submission. Detailed guidelines and the submission form can be accessed via this link: (https://forms.gle/Z8yk9yxyGEcX3q8h8). Participants selected to present their scholarly contributions and lacking institutional backing will be offered coverage for both accommodation and travel expenses. Furthermore\, the submitted papers will undergo a publication process. \nWe invite you to peruse our official symposium website (https://www.isar.org.tr/en/sempozyum-calistaylar/copyright-in-islamic-law-project-2) for comprehensive information\, as well as the attached call for papers document. Should any queries arise\, we encourage you to direct them to Mr. Ali Ekber Cinar (ali.ekber.cinar@isar.org.tr). \nWe humbly request your cooperation in disseminating this call for papers to individuals who may exhibit a vested interest in the subject matter.

SUMMARY:Workshop: ASLH Early Career Virtual Workshop\, June 30\, 2024
DESCRIPTION:From the organizers: \n\nSubject Fields: Law and Legal History\n\n\nASLH Early Career (Virtual) Legal History Workshop \nDeadline for Applications:  June 30\, 2024 \nThe American Society for Legal History (ASLH) is delighted to announce a new virtual initiative – the Early Career (Virtual) Legal History Workshop – designed to provide support and intellectual community to early career scholars working in legal history\, broadly defined. \nApplications are invited from early career\, pre-tenure scholars\, publishing in English\, who have completed PhDs or JDs (those working toward a JD/PhD must have completed the PhD).  Scholars with expertise in all chronological periods and geographical fields are encouraged to apply\, as are scholars who may not (yet) identify as legal historians. Though time zones present a challenge\, one of the goals of the ASLH’s virtual initiatives is to increase opportunities for engagement between international and U. S. based scholars.  With this in mind\, we encourage international scholars to apply. \nFor more details\, visit here.
