The MEIS Graduate Student Virtual Symposium provides a critical space for graduate scholars (MA and PhD) to explore how power, knowledge, and resistance intersect across Muslim and Middle Eastern contexts.

Submission Guidelines
Eligibility: Graduate students (MA or PhD) from any discipline or institution worldwide.
Abstract Length: 250–300 words.
Include:
o Title of paper
o Author’s name, institutional affiliation, and program level
o 3–5 keywords
o Short bio (max 100 words)
Presentation Time: 15 minutes, followed by discussion.
Important Dates
Abstract Submission Deadline: February 2, 2026
Notification of Acceptance: March 2, 2026
Full Paper Submission (optional for competition): May 31, 2026
Symposium Date: May 15, 2026
Participants may optionally submit full papers for the Graduate Paper Competition, supported
by the ECMC Chair in Islamic Studies: 1st Prize $500 | 2nd Prize $300
