Program Scope & Policies
Our Portal, Publications, and various Programs collect and publish scholarship on Islamic law from the earliest periods of Islam through today (7th–21st centuries), and they cover both Muslim-majority and Muslim-minority contexts. We adhere to common principles of academic engagement, including attention to diverse perspectives, peer-reviewed analysis, and the free and open exchange of ideas.
Fine Print
All Program community members, authors, and affiliates agree to adhere to Harvard’s policies, including those outlining general Rights and Responsibilities, and Community Principles. In addition, our Terms of Use govern the SHARIAsource Portal and our other online platforms (including the Blog, Journal, and Social Media Accounts), which similarly aim to foster academic engagement and the civil, free, open exchange of ideas.
